Perhaps one of the most exciting and impressive landscapes that you can find in Colombia, is its wonderful coffee landscape, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.
The Colombian coffee route is made up of the departments of Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda and Valle del Cauca, located in the Central and Western branches of the Andes mountain range. On these mountainous systems, representative areas of coffee production have been developed that constitute a group recognized for its attributes, the relationships between its inhabitants and its cultural heritage. Due to its conditions of “location, relief, climate and soils, this region presents a high number of habitats of strategic interest for the conservation of biological diversity”. It has a large presence of native forests and biological corridors considered essential for the conservation of world biodiversity.
You will be overwhelmed by the number of birds of all imagined colors, you will have the opportunity to spend a few days with the locals who will give you a great welcome to each place you visit. In this tour we have taken care of providing a totally local and active immersion experience in all the tours you have. Then at the end of this tour, you will go to the magical Colombian Caribbean to experience other cultures, completely exuberant landscapes of nature and paradisiacal beaches and fantastic deserts.

Day 1 -
You will be received by our representatives at the airport and transferred to the hotel at Salento. After check in and leaving all in order, you will visit the tour at Salento that is the father city of the municipality of Quindío, for being the oldest in the department, founded in 1842 and its name is given by the prosperous city of Salento de Crete, which hosted to King Idomeo after being banished from the Mediterranean. It is a municipality of great relevance in history for the "National or Quindío Road", a road that connected the west with the administrative center of the Crown in the city of Ibague, also through this, important characters of the time such as the Liberator Simón Bolívar passed in the year of 1830, scientists, military, foreign visitors such as José Celestino Mutis (1783, first Botanical Expedition in America), the wise Francisco José de Caldas, Alejandro Von Humboldt (1801), among others and other members of the patriotic and royalist troops of Spain. Today it is better known as the municipality of Cradle of the National Tree "La Palma de Cera". Salento is characterized by its beautiful architecture typical of the Antioquia colonization, where you can see the real street (the most important in the municipality), which by Catholic tradition at that time, on the right side are the two-story houses inhabited by the class High and on the left side are the single-level homes inhabited by the popular class, at this time there are artisan stores, cafes, etc. preserving the architecture of bahareque and mud wall, we will visit these sites during the tour.
DAY 2 -
It is a half day hike in the Cocora Valley, where history tells that Cacique Acaíme lived in the valley and had two daughters, one of them named her Princess Cócora. Counting why the name “Valle de Cocora”. Also, you can see the national tree of Colombia, our emblem "La palma de Cera" the highest in the world and the only one of its kind that grows in cold weather. In the 2680 metters, we arrive at the Mirador del Cóndor, where we can appreciate the Canyon of the Cocora Valley and on many occasions the Condor of the Andes makes welcome.
DAY 3 -
The day starts at 9:00 am where you will dress in the typical costumes of the era (The women of chapolera and the men of Coffee growers) and takes the traditional transport of the Municipality "Jeep Willys", which is one of the icons most representative of this region. You will arrive at the farm where the coffee grower receives you to live an experience with smell of coffee. They will begin to teach you with the peasant activities carried out in the farm, how is it to choose the coffee seeds for the respective sowing; harvest, wash, pulp, roast and then enjoy a cup of coffee. At lunch, you will enjoy a tipical food named sancocho or beans (The most emblematic dishes of the Region) with Bogadora (Aguapanela with lemon) During the tour of the farm they will take you across the trees to differentiate different fruits that also you can consume and listen the different stories of the Coffee Cultural Landscape, named a World Heritage Site by the Unesco.
Day 4 - Morning departure to the airport and fly to the city of Bogota and then go to rest to the hotel. The rest of the day will be for free to take a tour or go shooping around.
DAY 5 -
In the morning take the flight to Riohacha. In Riohacha reception at the Riohacha airport. Lunch at a popular Ranchería Wayuu with typical regional food, dances and crafts and interaction with the Wayuu culture, face painting, myths and legends. Departure for the "cape" Cabo de la Vela, Manaure, ( Manaure's main economic activity is the exploitation of the vast amounts of salt in the area ) and then transfer to Uribía, for a dinner and accommodation at Cape de la Vela. (Uribia is predominantly inhabited by indigenous peoples pertaining to the Wayuu ethnic group)
DAY 6 -
Departure for Punta Gallinas passing through the vast Guajira desert, Lunch at Pusheo beach, Visit to the Médano de Taroa, beach, Punta Gallinas Lighthouse, that is the northernmost point of South America, fresh water wells, dinner and accommodation in Punta Gallinas at a tipical Posada Wayuu.
DAY 7 -
Breakfast, departure to cape de la Vela, walk to Pilón de Azúcar and Ojo de Agua beach. Lunch at Cabo de la Vela, departure to Riohacha to continue to Palomino, free dinner, then accomodation.
DAY 8 -
Breakfast, tubbing activity 1:30 hike through the Sierra Nevada, (The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is an isolated mountain range in the northern area of Colombia, separate it from the Andes mountains that runs through the centre of the country. Reaching an altitude of 5,700 m (18,700 ft) just 42 km (26 mi) from the Caribbean coast, the Sierra Nevada is the highest coastal range in the tropics, and one of the highest coastal ranges in the world) Here we will visit an indigenous town to share with the Koguii indigenous community, get to know their homes, coca crops, talk with a mother, we go down the river, time to enjoy it, lunch , and then transfer to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.
DAY 9 -
Breakfast, a day tour is made through this ancient Tairona settlement accompanied by a local guide who recounts the life of this ancient civilization while walking through the cobbled paths and authentic terraces, places where they passed and lived. The route also shows an "indigenous cansamaría" ceremonial place of the Kogui, direct descendants of the Taironas who still preserve many of their customs transmitted from generation to generation to the present day and who sometimes occupy the cansamaría. At the end of the tour, you will enter the "Francisco Ospina Navia" museum, which has more than 300 Taironas archaeological pieces and current pieces of the Kogui culture (800 meters walking to the community there are travel options). Free lunch and free afternoon. Optional activity: an important activity is carried out within the Kogui community, which is the fabric made by women, who are fundamental pillars in society and an important part in the sustenance of families. Its weaving has great ancestral significance and is shared with our society through the Kogui weaving workshop in Taironaka (Additional cost of $ 84.00 approx for two people - prior reservation). Return to the hotel, free dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
DAY 10 - 06:00 AM
Departure to the city of Cartagena, passing through the city of Barranquilla, and arrival in Cartagena hotel, check in, then we will make a Cartagena-City Tour at the coordinated hours in the historic City and a tour will be carried out in air-conditioned transport, starting with a panoramic tour of the modern city, where you can see the residential and tourist area of the Boca Grande, Laguito and Castillo Grande neighborhoods, where you can see exuberant landscapes, magnificent beaches, and an important hotel and tourist infrastructure. After the previous tour we will be able to observe the beautiful bay of Cartagena, which is separated from the Caribbean Sea by the Tierra Bomba island. Next, you will visit the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, a great fortress that was built for 200 years on the San Lázaro hill, in order to defend the City from any attack by land from the enemies of the Spanish Crown, visit the church of San Pedro Claver. There will be a stop to shop for handicrafts in Las Bóvedas and we will have the opportunity to appreciate the historic center. Includes: Transportation, guide in english and entrance to the Castillo of San Felipe. Duration: 3h ½ hours approximately. At the end of the tour, return to the hotel. Night at the hotel.
DAY 11 -
Breakfast, and then -Tour to the Rosario Islands, transfer from the hotel to the tourist pier to board a speedboat to the the Rosario Islands. The tour lasts approximately 50 minutes, where we can observe the towns surrounding Cartagena, such as Tierra Bomba, Caño de Loro, Punta Arena and Boca Chica. In Boca Chica where the open sea begins, there are two forts San José and San Fernando, which collaborated in defense of the entrance of the Pirates to the bay of Cartagena. Then we will border the island of Barú, until we reach the corals Rosario Islands, we will arrive at the selected Island. The Rosario Islands (or corals from Rosario) is a small archipelago formed by 27 islands, located off the coast of the Department of Bolívar, in them is located one of the natural national parks of Colombia, created to protect one of the coral reefs most important of the Colombian Caribbean coast. In this place we will find a beautiful place to visit, considered a wonder of nature. Its natural landscapes, crystal clear water and coral formations show a unique ecosystem in the world. On the island there will be a panoramic tour of the archipelago, visit to the San Martín de Pajarales Natural Aquarium, where you can appreciate a variety of marine species, and enjoy the wonderful show of sharks eating from the hand of a man and the tender and intelligent dolphins. Time for lunch and enjoy the beach. At the end, return to the hotel at 3:00 p.m. Regular service. In the evening hours, time to carry out activities of interest or enjoy the hotel facilities.
